Powerlifting is the sport of the strong. It develops an athlete’s strength capabilities. Powerlifting is based on 3 exercises: barbell squats, bench press and deadlifts. An athlete should make these exercises and lift the most weight they can possibly can onstage. These are basic exercises in any strength sport, because they increase the overall muscle mass, develop strength and endurance, help strengthen the musculoskeletal system and improve the blood circulation.
On a training path from beginner to master, a powerlifter also includes a number of additional exercises to their trainings aimed at developing and strengthening of all muscle groups. As a result, all muscles are worked out, so an athlete gets a beautiful body figure in addition to high strength qualities. Powerlifters are often called strong in spirit, since working out with substantial weights and a thought-out training plan increase stress resistance and self-confidence.
